I need research and more research. My proposal will include what I intend to do an why I am planning to do it. this will further my knowledge on the Constructivists area and give me a clearer understanding on how the influences have carried on.

I will be discussing the links from the Constructivist period and what design elements have been incorporated or regenerated into out modern design of today. This is a familiar comparison a lot of people are aware of, the cover for Franz Ferdinand which is one of the most iconic album covers which are taken from the 1920s.
.

Here is a selection of images I am planning to use and discuss in my essay, there are some obvious similarities for example the style of typeface and the intended size. The use of block colour is an important factor also is the dynamic shapes which give the canvas a real structured style.

Proposed research topic: In this project I am going to discuss the use of typography in the Constructivist’s poster layout and how it has impacted on contemporary poster/typographical design. “Russian constructivism had a long lasting impact on graphic design” (Stephen j. Eskilson, 2007, p186)
Due to my great interest in typography and layout exploring how the movement began and how the constructivist movement influenced present design, how their distinctive style developed will give me the knowledge on where it all began and how the style influenced other designers/movements.
Typography and layout are two of the most important elements to me and my career; I always carefully consider the composition and font of any work I undertake.
Constructivism is a significant era in the history of design and has retained great impact on our industry due to the influences and their use of formal elements. Another objective is to explain how it has influenced both the Industry and me. I will give my personal opinions on the bold clean-cut type, minimal colour and dynamic shapes used and how these were used to create such original designs.
Researching this topic will help me discover how and why Constructivism is so significant to the industry of design. Further in depth research will help me find the most influential designers of that time and I will investigate how they have influenced today’s contemporary design.
A variety of sources will be used to source pertinent imagery and my research such as books, websites, DVD’s, Talks, Exhibitions and journals. Looking into ‘1000 type treatments’ will explain the many different styles in typography and help me recognise similarities between the typefaces and where certain elements of Constructivism play a part.
Alexander Rodchenko became one of the founders of Constructivism and Productivism, This is where Constructivism began, and I believe thorough research on Rodchenko, his background and his work will give me a better understanding of the movement and his experiments.
Organising my time using a production schedule and a time line indicating the deadlines will enable me to keep track of my progress and what needs to be completed, documenting the events I plan to attend and places I intend to go to obtain more information will inform me and keep me organised.
here are some more examples I will be discussing These are some examples of the contemporary design and whats current from my biggest inspirations of Neville Brody and Pentagram.
Examples of design inspired massively by Constructivism.
Typography developed through the years and new fonts founded and released for the industry to appreciate.
